Accessibility statement
Booked News should be readable and usable by everyone. We build the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Last updated 4 October 2026.
What we do
Semantic HTML with one heading structure per page; a skip-to-content link; a visible keyboard focus on every link, button and field; text alternatives on every meaningful image, including a plain description of each illustration; colour contrast that meets AA on text and controls; labelled form fields; support for the browser's reduced-motion and text-resize settings; and pages that reflow to any screen without loss of content. Reading pages carry an on-page contents list so long stories can be navigated by section.
Known limitations
This is a small, independent publication that opened in October 2026, and some areas are still being refined: the scroll-in motion on lists may not yet fully meet our target, and stories illustrated from the studio scene library carry a general description until their own drawing is ready. We fix issues as we find them and as readers report them.
How we test
Pages are checked with keyboard-only navigation, a screen reader (NVDA on Windows), browser accessibility audits, and an automated scan before every release.
