Booked News uses no third-party photography. Every picture on the site was made for it, and this page says how. Last updated 4 October 2026.
Story illustrations
Each story carries an original drawing made at the picture desk under Ines Albrecht, Illustrations Director. The drawings are clean isometric illustrations in the site's house style, with a cool palette anchored on the story's section. They are made for the story from a written brief, not adapted from anyone else's photograph or artwork. A drawing never depicts a real or identifiable person, never reproduces a brand's logo, never shows figures or charts, and never presents a named property as though it were a photograph of that property; where a story concerns a real company or place, the picture shows the idea, the object or the kind of place, not the thing itself.
Every drawing is reviewed and approved by Ines Albrecht before it runs, against a shared picture-desk standard used across our titles: the picture must be on the story, in the house style, and free of stray text, numbers or lettering, a logo, a real face, and the AI ‘sparkle’ — the glitter and floating specks the image models like to add — that the site does not publish. A drawing that fails is redrawn with the desk's corrections. Every published picture is also checked against the site's recent drawings so the desk never runs a near-copy of an earlier one.
The scene library
When a story's own drawing cannot be made in time, it runs with one of ten isometric studio scenes (city blocks, row houses, beach houses, cabins, apartments) drawn for the site in code, until the picture desk's drawing is ready. They are generic by design and show no real property.
Masthead portraits
The portraits on the desk page are studio portraits made for the site in a single consistent style.
The wordmark and marks
The Booked News wordmark and icon are the site's own. The Cavmir wordmark in the footer is used with permission of Trousdale Digital Technologies LLC, the publisher. Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com and other names that appear in stories are trademarks of their owners and appear only in editorial reference.
The standing audit
The picture desk keeps a register of every image the site has published and checks the site regularly for broken, duplicated, over-used or uncredited pictures. Because the site uses only its own images, the register has no third-party licences to track; if that ever changes, the credit for any licensed picture will be shown on the page where it appears, with the author and the licence.

The illustrations are © Trousdale Digital Technologies LLC. Publications wishing to reproduce one should email dan@cavmir.com; a credit to Booked News and a link are the usual terms.
