Miami issues code violation to 43 story Brickell condo tower

About 500 of the 643 units at The Club at Brickell Bay operate as short-term rentals without a valid Certificate of Use, according to a city code enforcement citation reported by Yahoo. Inspector Bickenson Jean-Noel gave the condo association board 10 days to comply or face a Dec. 9 hearing with potential fines up to $5,000 per day. The citation follows an Aug. 11 city order to cease rentals of less than 30 days.

Airbnb limits guest checkout chores under updated house rules

Nov. 20 is the start date for Airbnb's policy limiting hosts from requiring tasks that demand significant time or cleaner effort, according to the company. The updated policy addresses recurring complaints regarding cleaning fees and checkout demands. CNET reported that Airbnb previously introduced a toggle in November 2022 to display total prices including service fees, followed by a global total-price mandate in April 2025.

  4. Supply

Airbnb updates checkout rules for bookings starting November 20

November 20, 2026, is the effective date for updated checkout rules prohibiting hosts from requiring time-consuming chores, the company said. Hosts can no longer mandate guest tasks such as stripping beds, washing dishes, or taking rubbish off-site, though light requests like placing dishes in the sink remain allowed. Airbnb warns that persistent violations may result in reduced search visibility or listing notices.

Airbnb integrates 1 million listings into Amex Travel portal

More than 1 million Airbnb listings are now integrated into Amex Travel, according to an announcement by Airbnb and American Express. The partnership allows cardholders to book stays directly through the portal and earn Membership Rewards, while Platinum card members receive lodging credits on select stays and statement credits on Experiences.

Greek STR registrations down 2.1 percent as restrictions tighten

A 2.1% decline in registered short-term rental properties in Greece was reported by the Bank of Greece, with registrations falling to 203,122 in March 2026 from 207,572 in 2024. The central bank attributes the 4,450-property drop to new regulatory restrictions, taxation, and rising compliance costs. Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis noted central Athens AMAs fell from over 14,000 to under 12,500, while AirDNA tracked 13,820 active listings in September 2026, down 29.2% year-on-year.
