900 additional housing units are needed in Duluth, according to a city-funded study reported by the Duluth News Tribune. The target aims to substantially increase local housing stock by 2030. The report follows the City Council's unanimous passage of an ordinance barring new short-term rental licenses for single-family residences, drawing backlash from property owners who operate mixed-use commercial space rentals.
