A wrong figure in a Booked News story: how to tell the desk, what the desk then does, and the row-by-row log of every fix so far.
Telling the desk about a wrong figure
Found a figure, a date or a name in a Booked News story that does not match its source? Use the form on this page or write to info@bookednews.com. Name the story, quote the line, and if you can, point to the document that shows the right figure. The data standards editor reads each report inside two business days, checks it against the source on file, and corrects the story if the report holds. When the error is material, the text is fixed, an "Updated" line with the date goes on the story, and this page's log gets a row. A report that involves a named individual, a death, an injury, a lawsuit or an accusation is passed to the publisher's legal desk on the day it arrives.
